Watch Blake Shelton's Sneak Peek Of 'Texas,' Nod To George Strait

Blake Shelton offered a sneak peek of his soon-to-premiere “Texas” music video on Instagram on Thursday (November 14). He announced the new single earlier this week, nodding to legendary country star George Strait.

Shelton’s new song titled after the Lone Star State was written by Johnny ClawsonKyle SturrockJosh Dorr and Lalo Guzman, produced by Scott Hendricks. Shelton tips his hat to Strait, “who knows best where all the exes go,” stated a press release issued earlier this week.

“The thing that struck me about ‘Texas’ immediately was how different it sounded for me, and I’m always looking to push myself,” Shelton said in a statement. “I think there’s something really special about this record and important for me.

“This is the perfect opportunity to come back with something so different, and it easily felt like it should be the first single,” he continued. “It’s connected with what I’ve done but moves forward at the same time, and it’s the perfect start to the next chapter of my career.”

“Texas” will release on Friday (November 15). The official music video and livestream is set for 12:45 p.m. CT, Shelton confirmed in his post on Thursday. Watch the sneak peek here:
