Taylor Kerr is a mother of two!
The Maddie & Tae artist and her husband, Josh Kerr, welcomed Baby No. 2, they announced on Thursday (November 14). Son Chapel Shields Kerr made his surprise arrival on October 29. Kerr said “we are absolutely in love with our perfect little boy 💙 He’s making big moves in the NICU and we can’t wait to have him home with us soon 💪🏼🙏🏼,” as she shared the first photos of her newborn son on Instagram.
Chapel Shields was born at 3 lbs. and 4.9 oz., and measuring 15 inches, per PEOPLE. The Kerrs told the outlet that their son shares a middle name with Josh’s father.
Kerr announced in June that she was expecting her second child, and has since shared stunning maternity photos throughout her pregnancy. Her firstborn, daughter Leighton Grace Kerr, arrived early on January 17, 2022. Kerr said at that time that Leighton Grace is “beautiful, strong and everything we have ever dreamed of. she decided to be a Capricorn like her daddy. we already can’t wait for the day we get to finally take her home 💜.” Leighton Grace arrived home after spending 53 days in the NICU. Kerr recently spoke about her daughter’s early arrival when Maddie & Tae appeared on an episode of Get Real with Caroline Hobby. The Maddie & Tae said at that time that Baby No. 2 was due in November, and recently had a “spooky” baby shower.
Kerr is half of award-winning duo Maddie & Tae with duo partner Maddie Font, who celebrated her son’s first birthday in September. She and her husband, Jonah Font, welcomed Baby No. 1, son Forrest Henry Font, on September 9, 2023. Kerr is one of several country artists to welcome a baby this year, along with Kane Brown, Gabby Barrett, Jessie James Decker, Parker McCollum and more. See the first photos of her newborn son here:
