Lainey Wilson got the perfect sendoff to Australia with her global tour dates underway.
The Bell Bottom Country hitmaker posted a video capturing her ride to the airport. She says on a phone call, “hey, are you still coming to grab me for the airport? You see me?” Wilson asked as she waved to her oncoming driver. Fellow country star — and Australia native — Keith Urban stepped out of the vehicle to greet Wilson and take her to the airport. Wilson said she was “excited” and “nervous” to head to Australia.
“What’s the first thing you think of when you think of Australia?” Urban asked, and Wilson replied with a laugh: “you!”
During the drive, Wilson asked about “big snakes and everything like that,” that she might encounter during her time in Australia.
“Yeah, although the little ones are usually the bigger problem,” Urban warned. “Redback spider, they’re deadly, yeah. And they love toilet seats, so good luck with that.”
“Stop!” Wilson exclaimed.
The “Heart Like A Truck” star also assured that she was well-packed with her “thongs — flip flops” — Urban confirmed “that’s literally what they call flip flops in Australia: thongs” — revealed her grandfather’s old nickname for her and more. When Urban dropped her off at the airport, Wilson said she’s “so excited to be going to your home.”
Wilson is set to take the stage at Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne on March 20, and at Hordern Pavilion in Sydney on March 22. She’ll continue her global tour dates in Ireland, England and other destinations before returning to the U.S. for her headlining “Country’s Cool Again Tour.” See Wilson’s full list of tour stops below.
